Knott’s Berry Farm Kicks Off the Holidays with Park-wide Cheer

By Julie Kertes

Family at Craft Fair Booth - Los Angeles attraction

Get in the holiday spirit while strolling through Knott’s Christmas Crafts Village, where you can find something for everyone on your list.

The halls are fully decked at Knott’s “Merry” Farm, the 160-acre Los Angeles attraction located in Buena Park, home to Snoopy and the PEANUTS gang. In addition to its famous thrill rides, roller coasters and family attractions, Knott’s is offering a variety of family holiday activities.

Holiday-themed performances include a world-class ice skating show, “Merry Christmas, Snoopy,” at the Charles M. Schulz Theatre, along with Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” and O. Henry’s “A Gift of the Magi,” both showing at the Bird Cage Theatre. You can also catch “Christmas Time is Here, Charlie Brown” in the Camp Snoopy area and the Calico Carolers, singing traditional holiday favorites as they stroll through Ghost Town. Visit knotts.com for show dates and times.

If shopping is your thing, set aside time to meander through Knott’s Christmas Crafts Village, located in Ghost Town, where you can shop for treasures from local artisans. There’s something for everyone on your “nice” list (and if you go overboard, you can store your purchases in a rented locker). There’s more shopping outside the park at Knott’s Marketplace, perfect if you’re looking for a hostess gift or fun souvenirs. The marketplace is also home to the famous Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant, a must-try for hungry park guests. Insider tip: If the line for the restaurant is too long, get takeout a few doors down at Chicken-To-Go.

Snoopy's Merriest Tree Lighting Santa and Snoopy Wide - Los Angeles attraction

Be sure to catch Snoopy’s Merriest Tree Lighting with Santa.

Save room for dessert and swing by Santa’s Christmas Cabin in the Wilderness Dance Hall for sweet treats including homemade cookies, pastries, pies and roasted nuts. Pair that with a cup of coffee or a glass of eggnog, wine or beer and you’ll be set for the night. Kids can hang with St. Nick, share what’s on their wish lists and get a souvenir photo.

At sundown, don’t miss the light snowfall with dancing lights and music in Ghost Town and see “Snoopy’s Merriest Tree Lighting” on the Calico Square Stage … a perfect way to end the day.

Knott’s Merry Farm will be decked out until Jan. 3 and open every day except Christmas. For more information and deals on season passes, visit knotts.com.
