Road Trip
Hullabaloo
Summer often means family car trips, and the Hullabaloo boys have come up with the perfect soundtrack for yours. Their new concept album, Road Trip, provides a marvelous musical journey about traveling by car.
The San Diego-based duo (Steve Denyas and Brendan Kremer) display a real understanding about kids and car trips. Songs like “Car Seat Dance,” “I’m Hungry,” “Makes Me Sleepy,” and especially “Are We There Yet?” speak wonderfully to the child’s car experiences.
The title track is a dandy roots rock track that sets the country/folk tone on this country-crossing CD. The twangy “Rolling Down This Road” reworks the traditional tune “Going Down The Road Feelin’ Bad” (popularized by Woody Guthrie and the Grateful Dead), while a Johnny Cash feel surfaces in “10-4 Good Buddy.” In “Flying Towards The Light,” Hullabaloo offers an interesting ode to windshield-splattered insects that wind up in “bug heaven.”
This is one CD you’ll want to take along when you hit the road with the kids.

Movie Review: Arthur And The Invisibles 2&3: The New Minomoys Adventures These films are follow-ups to the not well-known 2007 Arthur and the Invisibles. Like the original movie, these sequels are directed by French filmmaker Luc Besson. |
