When it comes to haircuts, parents may be focused on a stylist’s results or the proximity of a salon to work or home, but kids are all about the experience. For little ones in Arcadia, Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids just opened a location in the area. The salon creates a kid-focused oasis with playgrounds, toys, video games and fun fantasy chairs, not to mention special treatment for first-timers.
Located at 304 E. Huntington Dr., two doors down from Starbucks, the new salon is the third Cookie Cutters in the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, and the first that Kevin Feely and wife Yao, have opened. Their grand opening event is set for Nov. 4 and will feature $5 hair cuts for the first 30 bookings (must be booked in advance). Party characters Elsa and Jedi will be on site. There will also be a face painter from KidsArt.
“As parents of a 6-year-old and 4-year-old, we have personally seen the magic that a Cookie Cutters Haircut experience can bring to our own children and are excited to bring that same joy to kids and parents in our area,” says Kevin.
Kevin has spent his career working in the toy industry. After living abroad, Kevin and his wife decided to return to the United States to be closer to family and friends in the Arcadia area.
Cookie Cutters offers an interactive haircut experience. Upon entering the salon, children are welcomed by an in-store playground where they can climb and slide. Each haircut station is outfitted with unique fantasy chairs – from race cars to firetrucks and airplanes – as well as individual televisions for the kids to watch. With a balloon, lollipop and a smile at the end of each haircut, the Cookie Cutters experience is designed to keep children coming back. First haircuts for toddlers include a commemorative package with photo and hair clipping.
“Our goal is to provide all children, including those with special needs or sensory issues, with an enjoyable experience, pleasant memories and the desire to keep coming back,” says Kevin. “Our stylists love kids, and Cookie Cutters has designed its approach to put children at ease if they are nervous about getting their haircut.”
Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids in Arcadia is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
