Our own L.A. Parent kid reporter, Lola Bassirat, joined the fun at Jessica Biel’s  Au Fudge in West Hollywood Jan. 14 for the season two premiere party of Amazon Studio’s Original Series, “Just Add Magic.”

In the series, loosely based on the book of the same name by Cindy Callaghan, three aspiring pre-teen chefs discover a magical cookbook full of recipes that have interesting powers – and consequences. The story follows their adventures as they investigate how the recipes work, and sometimes use the recipes to take on the perils of life in middle school.

The VIP guests screened two episodes of the new season – “Just Add Summer” and “Just Add Chuck.” They also joined cast members Olivia Sanabia (Kelly), Abby Donnelly (Darbie) and Aubrey Miller (Hannah) in making Last Ditch mini triple layer cakes inspired by the first season of the show.

Celebrity guests August Maturo (“Girl Meets World”), Albert Tsai (“Dr. Ken”) and Jet Jurgensmeyer (“Legends of the Hidden Temple”) were also spotted enjoying the #JustAddMagic photo booth and face-painting area. A special treat came at the end of the magical event with a surprise appearance of Au Fudge co-owner Jessica Biel.

Season two of the original series continues with Kelly and her two best friends, Darbie and Hannah, working together to unravel the mystery surrounding the reappearance of an old enemy threatening to steal the girls’ magical cookbook. The series is available on Amazon Prime Video.

Au Fudge has hosted celebrity cooking classes before with the Step Stool Chef Julian Frederick. They are currently offering a series of weekly cooking classes called Claude Croissants Cooking Class for kids ages 3-12. Parents are recommended to help children under age 6.
