Madeline Levine, Ph.D., New York Times bestselling author of The Price of Privilege, will conduct a parenting seminar March 10 at the Skirball Cultural Center. The Price of Privilege, which debuted in 2006, called attention to how the emphasis on performance, competition and materialism among affluent families can create emotional problems in adolescents. Levine’s new book, Teach Your Children Well: Parenting for Authentic Success, focuses on ways to correct emotional problems, limited coping skills and disengagement from learning among these children. The seminar will include an illustrated lecture by Levine, an interactive workshop for parents, and a book signing. Cost to attend is $20, $15 for Skirball members.
