The Pasadena Museum of California Art’s exhibit “Interstitial” refers to sculptural work that falls into the spaces between the traditional genres of the decorative arts, still life and abstraction. The exhibition’s contemporary artists take ordinary objects and utilize in unusual ways to make us see them in different lights. “Interstitial” should be appeal to tweens (and older museum-goers) interested in seeing how artists’ attempt to give new meaning and context to common items.
