It is a wonderful, fresh way to view Chagall’s iconic colorful art style. The show focuses on his four stage productions: the ballets Aleko, set to music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky (1942), The Firebird by Igor Stravinsky (1945), Daphnis and Chloé by Maurice Ravel (1958), and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute (1967). On display too are his design sketches that are works of art themselves. This exhibit will appeal to fans of Chagall’s art as well as those interested in theater and costume design.
