2-5 p.m. June 25, July 23, Aug. 27. Take a toe-tapping musical adventure at Union Station. These all-ages events will present live music, dance lessons and percussion workshops. Each day ends with the fun, joyous group dance known as The Floor Improv Jam. On June 25, innovative percussionist Christian Moraga will lead a workshop with instruments provided by Latin Percussion, and Korede “Snoopy” Sonupe demonstrates his unique dance style that draws upon hip-hop, dancehall, and African traditions. Bassist Oskar Cartaya and his Afro-Caribbean funk band will perform too. July 23 offers The Red Line Horns, one of L.A.’s hottest brass sections, and flamenco with dancer Manuel Gutierrez, plus Moraga again leads the percussion workshop. Acclaimed L.A. musician/composer/producer Carlos Rodgarman leads his talented band through a genre-hopping performances on Aug. 27. Additionally, Diego Alvarez conducts a percussion workshop on congas and other instruments provided by Latin Percussion; while choreographer/performer Sarah Reich gives a tap dance lesson.
