Visitors will have an opportunity to raise sails, sing sea shanties, and learn about life on tall ships when the Hawaiian Chieftain and Lady Washington visit Ventura Harbor. The Lady Washington (a replica of the first American ship to round Cape Horn and land in the Pacific Northwest) and the Hawaiian Chieftain (a replica of a sailing vessel that ran the trading routes in the 1800s) will be open for walk-on tours as well as Battle Sails (3-hour mock battles), and Adventure Sails (2-hour family-oriented experience with tall ship handling, sea shanty singing, and maritime amusement). A crew of 10-14 people will be on board both vessels to answer questions. Children 12 and young must be accompanied by an adult. Check its website for complete schedule and ticketing information.
