If there is a comic book fan in your house, you should circle May 6 on your calendar. It’s Free Comic Book Day and, for the 16th year, comic book stores around the country will dole out free comic books – many created just for this day. Titles will include “Super Hero Girls,” “Barbie,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Doctor Who,” “Monster High” and “Underdog.”

Among SoCal comics stores participating are The Comic Cult in Torrance, Things From Another World at Universal CityWalk, The Perky Nerd in Burbank, Pulp Fiction in Long Beach and Culver City, Mega City One on Melrose Avenue, Earth-2 Comics in Sherman Oaks and Collector’s Paradise in Pasadena. A number of stores will have special events that day. Visit www.freecomicbookday.com for a full list of stores and comics, and all the latest FCBD news.
