Due to the large demand for gluten-free breads nowadays, La Brea Bakery (www.labreabakery.com) which first opened in Los Angeles 26 years ago, has recently introduced its own gluten-free breads. Best known for its artisan breads, La Brea Bakery was looking to offer customers something that was tasty and healthy, thus the creation of the new breads.
To begin, the bakery is offering two classic flavors. The first is the White Sliced Sandwich Bread, which is soft and light with a thin crust. The second is the Multigrain Sliced Sandwich, which has a nutty crust and is soft on the inside with added texture and flavor from flax seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and millet.
What makes theses breads different from others is that they have a lower calorie count and fat content (only 130 calories and 3 grams of fat per 2 slices). As with many of the bakery’s award-winning breads, these gluten-free options can stand up to heavy sandwich builds and toppings without crumbling, making them a favorite.
The new gluten-free bread options are now available in the La Brea Bakery Café (468 S La Brea Ave, Los Angeles CA 90036), Vicente Foods Market, Gelsons Markets and Bristol Farms Markets.
