This morning, the cast of Saban’s Power Rangers joined LA based school supplies company Yoobi in donating thousands of supplies to children at 116th Elementary School in Los Angeles.

Yoobi, an innovative school, home, and office supplies company that gives back, lead the charge on the donation, kicking it off with an assembly featuring Yoobi’s Chief Giving Officer Justin Wolff, 116th Street Principal Tyra Henderson, and all five Power Rangers (Becky G, Dacre Montgomery, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott and Ludi Lin) who completely surprised the assembly of hundreds of kids. The kids screamed as the Power Rangers came out and listened attentively as the Rangers talked about their favorite school supplies and how those supplies as a kid, helped them unleash their super powers. The Rangers talked to the kids about the importance of creativity and using their imagination and also taught them a lesson on how just like school supplies, the Rangers work best when working together – like how a sharpener helps to sharpen the pencil and the eraser is there to help if things go wrong.

Through its partnership with the Kids In Need Foundation (KINF), Yoobi donated essential school supplies to more than 500 students across the school.  Each of the Power Rangers took the time to individually hand out all of the items from the Classroom Pack to the kids, including hundreds of core learning tools like pencils, glue sticks, erasers, rulers, folders, crayons, colored pencils, markers and more. The kids also took photos with the Rangers and asked them questions. Becky G sang her song ‘Shower’ acapella along with the students. RJ Cyler (the Blue Ranger) was asked to dab and invited the kids up to the front to dab with him. The elementary students also danced to Silento’s “Watch Me” with the cast and everyone had an amazing time.

“Kids don’t only need school supplies in August and September,” said Becky G., who plays Yellow Ranger Trini in the film, which opens today.  “This effort by Yoobi, and the Kids In Need Foundation, recognizes the ongoing expense many teachers face throughout the school year, and helps level the playing field so that every kid has a chance to succeed in school.”
