For the 11th year, Smithsonian magazine has organized Museum Day Live!, a day where museums and cultural institutions across the U.S. waive their admission fees and let folks in for free. More than 1,300 venues will be participating this year, representing all 50 states. And the event, Sept. 26, will add generously to the list of things to do in L.A. that day.

In Southern California, participants range from A (Autry National Center of the American West) to Z (Zimmer Children’s Museum). You can explore all sorts of art, history and culture at other notable local institutions, including the Craft And Folk Art Museum, the Pacific Asia Museum, the Pasadena Museum of California Art, the Japanese American National Museum, the Fowler Museum at UCLA and the Museum of the Holocaust.

Get admission tickets for yourself and a guest by visiting www.smithsonian.com/museumdaylive, and find a complete list of participating museums at www.smithsonian.com/museumday/venues.
