Sewing Arts Lab

Five week-long sessions of fabric fundamentals, machine safety and operation, beginning sewing skills progressing to complete project construction. Throw in some textile embellishment (printing, dyeing), sketching and 3D non-sewn projects for good measure. The program is fast-paced and attendees work on several projects throughout the week.

Who it is for: Kids and teens, ages 10 and up, who have a curiosity about art, clothing, fashion, construction, and textiles.

The daily schedule is 9 am – 3 pm

It is an opportunity to foster independence, technical knowledge, creativity, patience and community. With a strong focus on the early fundamentals of tools, equipment & materials, students will leave with a reference book of techniques, basic machine know-how, sketches and creative projects that will inspire their future endeavors.
