Local skies will be bursting with fireworks July 4th. Here are four events that stand out from the sparkle.
Kaboom at the Fairplex in Pomona might have the best name for a July 4 extravaganza. The event begins at 5 p.m. with a metal-crunching Monster Truck and Motocross show, monster truck rides, pit party and buffet dinner ($28-$60) – and a charity book drive. Queen Mary’s All-American 4th of July, starts at 2 p.m. and serves up a star-spangled day of strolling magicians, hula hoopers, carnival games, arts and crafts and a bounty of food. AmericaFest (pictured), the Rose Bowl’s summertime tradition, kicks off at 2 p.m. with the Family Fun Zone outside the stadium. The 4th of July Block Party in Grand Park is a collaboration between Grand Park and The Music Center, and offers an afternoon of soccer and tag, chalk art, fun with bubbles, live music and DJs – plus many food options – beginning at 3 p.m. Then sit back and experience an 8:30 p.m. fireworks show.
