SUMMARY:Hallowe’en Spooktacular
DESCRIPTION:Bob Baker Marionette Theater brings back this all-ages Angeleno tradition\, encouraging guests to make their own holiday memories with an entire season of puppetry and one-of-a-kind events. \nSince the 1980s\, Angelenos and tourists alike have incorporated the show into their Halloween celebrations. From a tap-dancing Frankenstein to visitors from outer space to a friendly People Purple Eater\, there is no spooky show quite like BBMT’s Spooktacular. This year’s production also includes an ode to Día de los Muertos\, which celebrates the Theater’s community in a distinctly Bob Baker way. First created for BBMT’s reimagined ¡FIESTA! show in 2022\, marionette calaveras honor and celebrate the theater’s ancestors\, family\, and Los Angeles community. \nIn addition to the rest of the season\, a sensory-friendly version of Hallowe’en Spooktacular will be offered on Saturday\, Oct. 10\, at 10:30 a.m.

SUMMARY:The Music Center Presents BEASTS
DESCRIPTION:Step into The Music Center’s Digital Arts Space on Jerry Moss Plaza to encounter and become “gwoemul\,” shapeshifting beasts from Korean folklore. Created by L.A.-based artists Scarlett Kim and Anthony Storniolo\, this one-of-a-kind digital installation teleports participants to a retro-futuristic world suspended between Seoul and Los Angeles\, where mythology\, memory and possibility converge. Participants first choose the beast that calls to them. Using their bodies and movements\, they step into the beast’s story and help shape its fate. They can follow one beast—or all of them. They can jump in and play\, or simply watch the worlds unfold around them. \nWednesdays\, Thursdays and Fridays\, 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays\, 2 – 9:30 p.m. \nExtended Hours Monday\, Nov. 30\, 4:30 – 8:30 p.m.\, during the L.A. County Tree Lighting; and Sunday\, Dec. 20\, 10 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.\, during the L.A. County Holiday Celebration. RSVP is encouraged.
