9 a.m.-5 p.m. April 27, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. April 28. Triumph Foundation hosts this free event to introduce wheelchair sports to people who are newly injured, veterans, children, and others with disabilities. Wheelchair hockey, basketball, quad rugby, racquetball, handcycling, curling, SCUBA, pickle ball, throwing/rowing, and dodgeball are among the sporting events. The weekend also includes a Youth Camp, a resource fair, and art, music, and dance. The festival brings together people of all abilities – able body and disabled alike – for a weekend of games and activities. It also is part of the Paralympic Gateway to Gold initiative, which can lead to representing the U.S. Paralympic Team. More than 30 sports wheelchairs available to use too, and coaches and instructors will help teach folks how to play the games. Only those wanting to do SCUBA must register in advance; email Melissa@Triumph-Foundation.org for more information. A closing awards ceremony happens at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
