The celebrated fantasy and adventure writer Cornelia Funke returns to the museum to read her latest Getty story featuring the pirate and ghost William Dampier, who protects the Getty Center from other ghosts and spirits. Inspired by the Getty’s “Bauhaus Beginnings” exhibition, this tale follows the Pirate Dampier to the Bauhaus, where he encounters an artistic world of shapes, colors, and materials. Following this afternoon storytelling adventure in the Museum Lecture Hall, there will be a reception, children’s craft project, and tour of the exhibit in the Getty Research Institute galleries. Advance ticket required
. Recommended for families and kids ages 8 and older.
