The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is providing you with plenty of space to explore the historic Apollo 11 moon landing. Commemorating its 50th anniversary, this all-new interactive exhibit offers an originally-created, 360-degree virtual reality experience that will transport visitors to the lunar surface on July 20, 1969, to see and hear Neil Armstrong’s “one giant leap for mankind.” You can also sit in a 1969-style American living room and watch the moon landing just like people all over the world did. The exhibit presents a historic look at the Space Race of the 1950s and 1960s that led up to the Apollo 11’s monumental trip to the moon along with displaying a number of interesting artifacts (from an Apollo 11 moon rock to the Oval Office telephone that Pres. Nixon used to call the astronauts) as well as a giant, exact recreation of an Apollo mission command module.
