10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Tues.-Fri., Sun.; 10 a.m.-9 p.m. May 14-Aug. 18. The Getty Center is one place where you can can find fantastic beasts. This exhibit explores the wild literary genre known as bestiary, which was very popular during the medieval era. A crazy array of creatures – both real and imaginary – literally leap over of the vibrant pages on display. These colorful (and apparently clever) beasts often “escaped” from their homes on manuscripts’ pages to inhabit other art works over the years too.
