The 10,000 sf pop-up community art center will feature free, museum-style exhibitions of large scale cardboard sculptures and architectural models constantly added to by artists-in-residence, family art activities introducing youth and art to cardboard crafting techniques, and a Cardboard City shop selling tools and materials families can use to make cardboard art at home. “Cardboard City” is presented by local non-profit reDiscover Center and the City of Santa Monica’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment and Starpoint Properties.
