Registration fee: $40 per person for materials; class fee: $20 per person for each session
5-7:30 p.m. Wed. March 27-May 29. Facilitated by Dr. Carolyn Monroe, The Parent Project is a series of classes designed specifically for parents of strong-willed or out-of-control adolescent children. The curriculum teaches concrete identification, prevention, and intervention strategies for the most destructive adolescent behavior (e.g., poor school attendance and performances, alcohol and other drug use, gang membership, runaways, and violent teens). These classes serve to help alleviate fears and concerns through education and group discussions. Pre-registration online is required in order to reserve your space in class. At the conclusion of the full 10-session course, a Parenting Certificate will be issued. For families with court orders to take parenting classes, this certificate is permitted. Parents should note that they will not receive a certificate of completion without attending all sessions but drop-ins can be done too.
