10 a.m.-5 p.m. March 16-Jan. 5 (closed 11/28, 12/25, 1/1). See, hear, smell, and act like a dog! Through engaging and fun hands-on (paws-on?) exhibits, you’ll explore the science behind that special bond between humans and dogs. Listen to those hidden sounds that only dogs can hear; excavate replicas of actual fossils to determine if they belong to wolves or dogs; walk through an interactive neighborhood to see how pets strengthen the community; and test your pop-culture knowledge during a game of “Jeopawdy!” Don’t miss the live demonstrations of work and rescue dogs in action! Created by the California Science Center with support from Annenberg Foundation and Wallis Annenberg PetSpace, the highly interactive (and, please note, human only) exhibition also invites guests to share personal photos and stories of their dogs on a photo wall. Additionally, a new IMAX film,”Superpower Dogs,” debuts March 16 at the CSC. Narrated by Chris Evans, the thrilling “dog”-umentary follows six real-life working dogs and their human partners as they brave earthquakes and avalanches, protect endangered species such as rhinos and elephants and transform the lives of people with special needs.
