The Battle of Dominguez Hill was a military engagement in the U.S.-Mexican War that took place on October 8-9, 1846 within Manuel Dominguez’s 75,000 acres of Rancho San Pedro. The public is invited to this commemorative event and experience the battle re-enactment as well as many aspects of 1800s life, such as military encampments, vendors, music, and dance. Children’s activities will include corn husk doll making, tortilla making, cattle roping, adobe brick making, and gold panning. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Visitors also are encouraged to take a tour of the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum.
