Immerse yourself in the world of the champion swimmer and movie star Esther Williams in this exhibition debuting at the Catalina Island Museum. The show provides a technicolor portrait of Williams, who rose from humble beginnings to become a Hollywood icon. Movie memorabilia, costumes, photographs and never-before-seen personal home movies are among the more than 70 items (compiled from donations and family members’ personal collections) that will be on display. Imagery from the movie “Jupiter’s Darling,” which was filmed on Catalina Island, will be highlighted in this exhibition as well.
