Join violinist Rachel Barton Pine, who will share the special history of her violin, the 1742 Joseph Guarneri “del Gesù” “ex-Bazzini ex-Soldat,” by playing music closely associated with Antonio Bazzini and Marie Soldat-Roeger, the great musicians who performed on the instrument in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Discover why Brahms handpicked the violin for Soldat-Roeger, one of the superstar soloists of her day, through Rachel’s performance of Maud Powell’s Brahms cadenza, Rachel’s own Brahms cadenza, and Brahms’ Lullaby. Revel in the thrill of this great instrument when she plays Bazzini’s Round of the Goblins. Streams live on Facebook and YouTube .
