5:30-7 p.m. Sept. 7, 21, 28. Come experience the Arboretum through a whole new lens by exploring the gardens at night! You may come across rabbits, bats, coyotes (from a safe distance), and the occasional owl. Each week you will explore a different part of the garden and each week will have a different “Around The World” theme. Today it will be Africa, with Asia the focus of Sept. 21 and Australia on Sept. 28. Each program begins with a storytelling session, followed by a hike through the gardens with interactive botanical explorations along the route. Jackets, comfortable walking shoes, and water bottles are encouraged. Guests are encouraged to come wearing their favorite animal costumes or accessories to “blend in” with the evening critters of the Arboretum! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is encouraged, as hikes sell out quickly.
