noon-5 p.m. Wed.-Sun. May 5-Sept. 15. The Pasadena Museum of History gets playful in its latest exhibit, which showcases a colorful collection of over 35 smaller scaled carousel horses and exotic creatures that visitors of all ages will be able to see – and touch. There’s an enchanting photo booth with a double-seat Polar Bear from an English carousel (circa 1920) that children and adults can climb on and get a special keepsake photo. These vintage ride-on horses/animals that rock, bounce, and/or roll, along with an entertaining menagerie of animals and carousel-themed toys can be seen as early examples of “interactive toys.” The exhibit was curated by local conservator Lourinda Bray from her own collection. If you saw PMH’s “Flying Horses & Mythical Beasts” exhibit, then you know what cool things she collects.
