6-10 p.m. Nov. 15-Dec. 23 (closed Nov. 28). For its sixth edition, the L.A. Zoo Lights will present more light-up animals than ever before, a high-tech interactive display where dancing lights respond to guests’ voices, and the world’s largest illuminated pop-up book that is a new installation created exclusively for the Zoo. Guests will be greeted at the entrance with a 90-foot-long shimmering wall of lights adorned with wintry snowflake displays set to music. Then embark on a self-guided 60-90 minute stroll through a holiday wonderland with a disco ball forest, whimsical 3-D animations, a water-laser show, wildlife-inspired displays, dynamic lights and projections, beautiful hand-crafted Chinese silk lanterns, and immersive interactive experiences (such as the popular Twinkle Tunnel that has been expanded and upgraded!). Premium nights (Nov. 29-Dec. 1, Dec. 6-8, Dec. 13-Jan. 5) will be a second entry time at 7:30 p.m. Meet Santa (for an additional fee) when he visits this new Zoo spot on Nov. 14-17; Nov. 22-24; Nov. 29-Dec. 1; Dec. 6-8; 13-23 from 6-9:30 p.m. Other special events will be happening too; consult its website for details. Zoo Lights will be closed on Dec. 24-25 and then reopening on Dec. 26 through Jan. 5.
