LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes invites the public (ages 6 and older) to learn a little Huasteca Nahuatl, the language that over a million people speak in the La Huasteca region of Mexico. The focus is on a variant of Nahuatl that is spoken today by native Nahuatl speakers. There is a session for first-timers (noon-2 p.m.) and an advanced level one (2:30-4:30 p.m.). Each level is assigned to a different teacher and all teachers also speak Spanish. Repeat classes help to ensure consistent learning. More information can be found on LA Plaza’s Facebook page.
