3 p.m., 7 p.m. Dec. 21; 1 p.m., 5 p.m. Dec. 22. The Moscow Ballet’s version of “The Nutcracker” maintains the ballet’s traditional elements in a production filled with lavish costumes in the style of the Victorian era, hand-painted sets, and more than three dozen classically trained ballerinas and danseurs. This “Nutcracker” also offers many magical moments, like a 50-foot growing Christmas tree, the life-sized Matryoshka Dolls, a grandfather clock with flapping owl wings, and a two-person “Dove of Peace” that has a 20-foot wingspan, as it celebrates the great heritages of the world including African, Asian, European, Hispanic and Slavic peoples. This production also showcase young student dancers from the LA Dance Academy and Sherman Oaks Dance Academy.
