9 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 3-4. Budding paleontologists will dig what the Natural History Museum has devised for its winter day camp. Youngsters will explore the Pleistocene past and see how NHM scientists find out about the creatures of the Ice Age. Campers will get hands-on experiences, from excavation to the lab, as well as some arts activities too. The camp has a section for kids in K-2 grade and another for 3-5 graders. Advance online registration required. Extended Care also is available for children from 8-9 a.m. and 3-5 p.m. at a cost of $15.
