5-10 p.m. Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sat.-Sun. Oct. 25-Nov. 2. The Day of the Dead will be honored on Olvera Street through a number of events. The Novenario Procession will happen every evening at 7 p.m., with a traditional Mayan blessing occurring before and afterwards. The festivities will also include Aztec dancers, the Parade of “Living Muertos,” the Aztec ceremonial blessing known as Grupo Tartalejos, and traditional food, like free sweet bread and champurrado. Entertainment during the week starts at 5 p.m. goes all day on the weekend. Calavera face painters will be on hand Oct. 27-28 (10 a.m.-8 p.m.) and Nov. 1-2 (3-8 p.m.); there is a fee for the face painting.
