In this exhibit, visitors can examine the fates of Helen of Troy and Dido of Carthage – two heroines from classical mythology whose stories have inspired poets, artists and musicians over the centuries. Five tapestries from the 16th and 17th centuries, along with a rare set of cartoons will reveal how these female-centric stories were portrayed during this era in works made for wealthy patrons.
