In collaboration with NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Huntington Gardens will be home to a very unusual exhibit this winter. The Orbit Pavilion, which is making its west coast premiere, is large aluminum-clad, nautilus-shell-shaped sculptural installation outfitted with 28 speakers mounted on its inside walls. Each time a satellite flies over it, a corresponding sound, ranging from a crashing wave to a croaking frog, will emanate from one of the speakers, creating one-of-a-kind “satellite symphony.”
