Ready to explore the opera house and learn what it takes to be a great opera audience? The “doors” are open. First, take a guided virtual tour of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Then enjoy a magical opera performance that’s written just for you, featuring selections from operatic favorites such as Pagliacci, Carmen, La Bohème, The Magic Flute, and The Girl of the Golden West.
Program is free, but reservations are required. The first 300 families to reserve space (before May 17) will receive a packet of art supplies in the mail. (Maximum two art packets per household.) If you need extras, we will provide downloadable templates you can print at home. Please note that the Art Workshops require families to have access to scissors and tape (or a glue stick) at home. The live art workshop will be accessible via Zoom invitation and viewing of Open Door Days will be provided via a YouTube link.
This program is made possible in part by a grant from the City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs.
