Solvang has been called one of the top 10 most “Christmassy” towns in America. Come see why during its annual Julefest, which offers a variety of delightful lights and spirited events during December. Every day, kids can go on a Nisse Adventure, searching for the elf-like Danish figures known as the Jule Nisse that are hidden in different locations around town. A map will provide clues, and, once they find all of the Nisse, they can get a prize at the Visitor’s Center. On Dec. 1, the festive tree lighting party starts at 5 p.m., while the merry Julefest Parade begins at 11 a.m. on Dec. 2. Up to 20 guests can do a guided candlelight tour on Dec. 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 at 5 p.m. On Dec. 9 & 16, kids can get a free photo with Santa in in Solvang Park (10 a.m.- 4 p.m.). Dec. 10 is the night for the community Nativity Pageant, which will be presented at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Julefest concludes on Jan. 5 with the annual Christmas Tree Burn (5-7 p.m.). Consult the Julefest website for more details.
