The Skirball boldly goes where it has never gone before: into the captivating universe of “Star Trek.” This vast, immersive exhibit showcases over 100 rare artifacts, set pieces, and props from the the “Star Trek” TV series and films. Prized items include Spock’s tunic worn by Leonard Nimoy and Captain Picard’s uniform worn by Patrick Stewart; spaceship filming models of the U.S.S. Enterprise, U.S.S. Excelsior, U.S.S. Phoenix, and Deep Space Nine space station, and Capt. Kirk’s command chair from the original series. Also featuring state-of-the art photo and video interactives, the exhibit spotlights Star Trek’s impact on world culture, art, and technology. Trekkies certainly will be heading to the Skirball at warp speed; but, even if you are a newbie to tribbles and other Star Trek lore, you will find much to explore in this exhibit. So, set their reactions to “stunned.” Advance tickets to “Star Trek: Exploring New Worlds” are highly recommended and available online only; a limited number of stand-by tickets will be available on site
