This exhibit will span those thousands of years as it looks at the history, culture and art connected to ink. Ancient artifacts and detailed modern day designs tattooed onto silicone models of the human body are among the over 125 items and images on display. The NHM has augmented this Paris-based exhibit with pieces from its own collection along with objects that reflect Southern California tattoo culture. This special exhibit has an additional admission ticket; advanced timed tickets can be purchased online at www.nhm.org/tattoo/. Parental discretion is advised since the exhibition contains some nudity in order to show the full breadth of tattoos on the body.
