11:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Mon.-Thurs., 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Fri., 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Sat., 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sun. Nov. 14-Dec. 14. A sure sign of the winter season is the ice rink in Pershing Square. Back for the 22nd year, the popular rink welcomes over 54,000 skaters and 450,000 spectators annually. The festivities kick off Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. with the Icebreaker Opening Celebration, which features a live performance of the Oscar-winning hit “Let It Go” by the touring cast of Disney’s “Frozen the Broadway Musical” and other special attractions, including an “icebreaking” ceremony where a large ice sculpture is shattered. Besides the nice 7200 sq. ft. ice rink, there will be a variety of special programs. Every Tuesday will be Let It Go Tuesdays dedicated to “Frozen”, with every third song played coming from the “Frozen” Original Broadway Cast Recording during the 7 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. (if applicable) sessions. Every Thursday hold a DJ Spotlight with DJ Howly (except Thanksgiving). Learn to Curl lessons will happen Nov. 16, Dec. 14 and Jan. 11 and more cool events will take place in Dec. and Jan. The rink will be open through Jan. 21 with varying hours; visit its website for complete details.
