11 a.m.–5 p.m. Tues.-Fri. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sat.-Sun. June 2-Sept. 8. The influential L.A. artist/curator/teacher John T. Riddle, Jr. (1933–2002) was a master of multiple mediums, including iron works, ceramics, and painted assemblages. He capitalized on his obsession with materials and their inherent languages to tell his own story, as well as to reckon with a collective history. Featuring 20 of his ceramic, mixed media sculptures and assemblages, this exhibit explores this work and bases it context of his contemporaries and students. While not geared for children, Riddle’s assemblages and iron works creatively constructed from found objects should appeal visually to young museum-goers, particularly tweens.
