In honor of this being its 36th year, there will be 36 creatively decorated Christmas trees on display at this hospital’s annual fun, fundraising festival. Held in a 30,000-square-foot white tent on the Torrance Memorial’s campus, this event has a Children’s Marketplace (with most items under $5), a very sweet food court, live entertainment by local groups and family-friendly activities, like face painting, crafts and writing letters to Santa. On Dec. 7, the Torrance Fire and Police Dept. will collect unwrapped new toys for its Toys for Tots Drive; anyone bringing a toy with a value of $5 or more will be given free admission between 2-6 p.m., and there will be fire trucks and police vehicles for kids to climb on and sit inside. You also can get a photo with Santa and, on Dec. 7 (11 a.m.-1 p.m.) attend the Lunch with Santa, which has a $20 ticket price. This year, all festival proceeds will support the construction of the Torrance Memorial Hunt Cancer Center.
