10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon., Wed.-Sun. Oct. 31-March 18. It seems fitting that an exhibit about the Underworld would open on Halloween. This Getty Villa exhibition reveals through art just what the ancient Greeks thought occurred to a person after they died. Vases are the main type of art on display, but they aren’t ordinary vases. They depict tales involving rulers of the dead and other infamous wrongdoers. The centerpiece is a colossal krater (a huge vase, not a large stone) on loan from Naples. This exhibit should interest tweens and older who are interested in ancient civilizations or maybe just the Underworld.
