Join Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust for an inspiring look at some of the courageous women who risked their own lives to save others during the Holocaust. Using artifacts and displays from the Museum, Vice President of Education & Exhibits Jordanna Gessler will tell the story of Irena Sendler, a Polish social worker who helped smuggle more than 2,500 Jewish children out of the Warsaw ghetto during the Holocaust; Hannah Szenes, the Jewish parachutist from Mandate Palestine who infiltrated German-occupied Hungary for the British Army; as well as other lesser-known “sheroes.” Appropriate for ages 12 and up.
