Rancho Palos Verdes, CA,
This 36th annual festival salutes the majestic Pacific Gray Whale’s seasonal migration from its summer feeding grounds in Alaska to the winter breeding and calving grounds in Baja California. Sponsored jointly by members of Los Serenos de Point Vicente and the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, “Whale of a Day” offers families a fun time, with a little bit of whale education too. Children’s activities include face painting, crafts (such as making own whale hat or some origami whales and fish), storytime, and games (like prize fishing, and miniature bowling) as well as two puppet shows and both an inflatable obstacle course and bounce house. There will be exhibits, environmental service booths, craft and food vendors and a raffle drawing too.
