The California African American Museum’s “Cross Colours: Black Fashion in the 20th Century” exhibition explores the impact and influence that the groundbreaking fashion company Cross Colours has had, particularly in the 1980s and 199os, in popular culture. Run-DMC’s breakout 1986 single “My Adidas” led to the first endorsement deal between a musical act and an athletic company, andset the tone for the birth of Hip Hop sneaker culture.
