L.A. muralist Corie Mattie has created a “Be More Like Betty” Betty White mural located on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.

In addition to honoring White with the visual art, Mattie hopes the mural will encourage people to contribute to dog rescue donations, promoting a cause closest to White’s heart.

The mural, which took Mattie more than 15 hours to complete, also includes a QR code that gives fans an opportunity to scan to and donate directly to local dog rescue Wagmor Pets, a 501c3 nonprofit located in Studio City.

Wagmor Pets is a non-profit international dog rescue that is devoted to helping solve the issue of dogs experiencing homelessness and placing these animals in safe, healthy and permanent, loving homes

During the pandemic, from March 2020 to today, Wagmor Pets has rescued more than 4,500 dogs.

Mattie figured it would be the perfect gift to honor White since the “Golden Girls” star famously donated and supported animal rescues for decades. The mural also aligns with the #BettyWhiteChallenge, a hashtag that encourages people to donate to their local animal rescues and shelters.
