Winter Frolic

Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square

This seasonal outdoor skating rink returns to DTLA with its annual Opening Celebration on Thursday evening, Nov. 21, along with the annual holiday tree lighting ceremony in Pershing Square. Ice skating sessions are 60 minutes long. Admission includes skate rental.

From the fan-favorite North Pole Journey immersive walk-through experience to the enchanting Ice Skating Trail, real Snow Play area, 150-foot Snowflake Summit ice tubing slide, and an all new holiday light show featuring more than 2 million lights and synchronized music, Winter Fest OC celebrates the magic of winter. Winter Lights Holiday Musical

The auroras are back in OC with the return of Winter Lights: A Journey Home —a holiday musical showing on select dates between November 23 and December 23. Created by Discovery Cube, in partnership with the Tony Award-winning production team, Apples & Oranges Studios, this holiday musical—a special part of the Holidays at the Cube celebration—invites audiences to come and get inspired in a winter wonderland filled with spectacle, original songs and the holiday spirit!
Winter Lights: A Journey Home magically weaves together an enchanting story of family through the eyes of a tenacious young girl who wants to make the world a better place. The show brings to life unique characters, including a science fairy and a lovable robot crafted from a toaster. Set against the backdrop of the Aurora Borealis, the show blends hope, resilience, and the magic of discovery. With Pamela Winslow Kashani, a Tony Award-winning Broadway veteran, bringing her musical talent, each song explodes with joy and emotion, resonating with audiences of all ages.
Holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood

Step into holiday magic as Universal Studios Hollywood expands its festivities to Include SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, along with fan favorites “Grinchmas” and “Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” plus enjoy holiday shopping and restive décor at Universal CityWalk. Beginning Friday, Nov. 29 and running daily through Monday, Jan. 6.
A Christmas Carol
2 p.m. – 7 p.m., Nov. 30 – Dec. 24 | A Noise Within
A Noise Within’s enchanting production of A Christmas Carol — a stage adaptation by Geoff Elliott that is uniquely faithful to the original novel by Charles Dickens — will once again enthrall audiences for the 2024 holiday season. Every word in Elliott’s play is right out of the novel — not a single one has been added. Throw in lush original music, eye-popping costumes, holiday crafts in the beautifully decorated lobby and photo ops with the cast after the show, and this “A Christmas Carol” might just be the best holiday party in town.
Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. There will be three additional performances, on Monday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and on Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 2 p.m. Plus one sensory-friendly “Relaxed Performance” on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 11 a.m.
Terranea Gingerbread Lounge

On Saturday, November 30, at 2 p.m., Terranea Resort will unveil its enchanting Gingerbread Lounge – a festive holiday pop-up located in the resort’s Mediterranean-style Lobby Lounge. This stunning 7-by-7-foot gingerbread masterpiece, adorned with gumdrops, candy canes and royal icing, boasts a functional bar and a whimsical gingerbread village, crafted from over 1,000 pounds of house-made gingerbread. Guests can indulge in signature holiday cocktails, non-alcoholic favorites like hot chocolate and apple cider and a selection of sweet treats including ginger snaps, peppermint bites, gingerbread people and chocolate crinkles, all created by Chef Jermonti and his skilled team. Children are invited to pen letters to Santa and enjoy complimentary cookies while live music fills the Lobby daily from 7 to 11 p.m. adding to the festive ambiance.

Pete’s Christmas Vacation Holiday Pop-up Bar

Bling on the Holidays!

Angel City Chorale (ACC), the acclaimed Los Angeles community choir and Golden Buzzer sensation from America’s Got Talent, proudly presents their new holiday concert extravaganza, “Bling on the Holidays!”
Accompanied by the ACC Orchestra, Artistic Director Sue Fink is back to lead the 180-voice chorale in a program of magnificent and joyful songs dressed up in sparkling arrangements. The Soraya Holiday tradition continues for its eighth year with a special guest vocalist. Little Women Ballet Holiday Performance

Los Angeles Children’s Chorus Annual Winter Concert: Celebrating Joy

Grammy Award-winning Los Angeles Children’s Chorus (LACC) considered one of the world’s leading children’s choirs, rings in the holidays with its annual Winter Concert, entitled “Celebrating Joy,” with back-to-back performances at two different locations, Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Pasadena, and Sunday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m., at Pasadena Presbyterian Church.
The program, which varies for the two concerts, includes an array of carols, seasonal songs, and winter-themed works. Among the highlights are “Imagine” by John Lennon; several selections from Britten’s beloved Ceremony of Carols; Ruth Boshkoff’s “I Will Bring You Brooches”; Felix Mendelssohn’s “There Shall A Star From Jacob Come Forth”; Johannes Brahms “Ave Maria”; Henry Purcell’s celebratory “Sound the Trumpet”; Jake Narverud’s “Lunar Lullaby”; and Marvin Hamlisch’s “One” from A Chorus Line. Also featured are selection of Welsh, Nigerian, and French folk songs and works by J.S. Bach, Eric William Barnum, Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Petr Eben, Rafael Isaza, Kirke Mechem, Robert Schumann, Randall Thompson, Lyn Williams, and more.
Some 400 choristers from six of LACC’s ensembles will perform. Concert Choir, led by LACC Artistic Director Fernando Malvar-Ruiz, appears at both concerts. Malvar-Ruiz also conducts the Chorale (LACC’s SATB ensemble) and Chamber Singers and Eric Lifland leads the Apprentice Choir (December 7). LACC Associate Artistic Director Fred Meads leads the Intermediate Choir and Dr. Steven Kronauer conducts the Young Men’s Ensemble (December 8).

Peter Pan and Tinker Bell: A Pirate’s Christmas

Lythgoe Family Productions returns to L.A. with “Peter Pan and Tinker Bell: A Pirate’s Christmas” Dec. 13-29 at Scherr Forum Theatre at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center in Thousand Oaks. This all-ages singing, swashbuckling comedy adventure will be performed in the popular theater tradition of a British holiday pantomime.
Ventura Harbor Parade of Lights & Fireworks
4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., Dec. 13 – 14 | Ventura Harbor Village
A holiday tradition filled with color and dazzling displays, this year’s parade theme is “Candy Land.” The waterfront will transform into a sugary spectacle, with vibrant boats and holiday cheer lighting up the night sky.
The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by fireworks display at 8 p.m. The best viewing spots are along the perimeter of the Harbor and areas of the Ventura Harbor Village promenade, with the best views facing northwest.
Arrive early to enjoy family carnival rides and games starting at 4 p.m., LED light performers, and the popular faux snowfall starting at 5:30 p.m. and professional bubble shows by SB Bubble Guy on Dec. 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 14th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (weather permitting).
Saint Anne Holiday Fair

Holiday Light Tour
6 p.m. – 9 p.m., Dec. 13 – 15 | McBean Regional Transit Center
Grab your coziest coat, holiday spirit and join Santa Clarita Transit on the annual Holiday Light Tour! This festive and family-friendly journey showcases some of the most magical and spectacular holiday light displays, which you can view comfortably on board the Santa Clarita Transit Trolley and other transit vehicles.
The tour lasts for approximately 45 minutes and allows passengers to view beautiful local displays of holiday cheer, while leaving the driving to Santa Clarita Transit. Tours will depart from the McBean Regional Transit Center on Friday, December 13 through Sunday, December 15, beginning at 6 p.m. with the last trip departing at 9 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased upon boarding for $3 per person, or free with the donation of toiletries, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, men’s deodorant, baby wipes, bar soap and disposable razors. All ticket sales and toiletry items are donated to the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry. Seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note, for safety purposes, the Holiday Light Tour does not visit Wakefield Court.
Since gazing upon brilliant holiday lights can work up an appetite, be sure to check out the food trucks for hot beverages and treats. Additionally, there will be multiple photo opportunities, including selfie-stations, all lit up and ready for your socials!
Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree

Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree holiday celebration features performances by The Holly Belles, The MoonRays, 90s/2000s cover band y2k2k!, and more. Other activities include a themed photo booth, temporary tattoos and body art, free hot chocolate, and gift wrapping (donations encouraged) by The Salvation Army. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to The Salvation Army toy and drive and receive a sweet gift from Dylan’s Candy Bar!

Singer/actress Kim Eberhardt returns to Sierra Madre Playhouse with Holly Dolly Christmas, a special holiday edition of her acclaimed show Love, Dolly, a heartfelt musical tribute to country legend Dolly Parton that drew sold-out crowds and adoring fans to the Playhouse last year.
This delightful yuletide version showcases some of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer’s multi-platinum hits that have become beloved holiday classics, among them “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas!”
Eberhardt, who also shares inspiring stories about Dolly’s life and career, says, “The show is my love letter to Dolly.”
Only six performances are slated: December 13, 14, 15, and 21, at 7:30 pm, with matinee and evening performances capping the run on December 22, at 4 pm and 7:30 pm. The entertaining two-act show runs 90 minutes.
A Charlie Brown Christmas 5K/10K Los Angeles

Come create memories, experience holiday wonder, and make this season a little brighter at Discovery Cube LA’s Holiday Village.
Activities include making your own ornament, writing a letter to Santa and sending it to the North Pole, a photo-op in Santa’s sleigh, building with “ice” blocks in an inflatable igloo and more.
Children 5 years old and younger can ride a bouncing reindeer in the Reindeer Corral and everyone is invited to take photos with Santa every day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting Dec. 14 through Dec. 24.
