Former actress and singer Charlotte Jackson is on a mission to redefine plus-size couture. The L.A. mom and founder of The Curve Authority, is a firm believer in inclusive luxury. I recently chatted with her about fashion, motherhood and showing up with intention.
As a mom and entrepreneur, what do your days look like?
My days are full and require me to be present in multiple roles. I am a wife, a mother and an entrepreneur, and each of those responsibilities matters deeply to me.
My day often starts with making sure my family is set, especially with my youngest daughter’s full school schedule. From there, I move into my business, meetings, creative work and everything that comes with building The Curve Authority. And in between it all, I am still very hands-on at home, whether that is preparing meals or making sure my household runs with care and intention.
It is a balance, but not in a perfect sense. It is about knowing what needs me in the moment and being fully present there.
I have learned that I do not have to lose myself to show up for everything else. I can nurture my family, build my work and still honor who I am as a woman. And that is what my days reflect: intention, responsibility and presence.
What is your mission in focusing on plus-size couture?
I focus on plus-size couture because access to true luxury should never be limited by size. Every woman deserves to experience fashion at its highest level — and with the same intention, detail and care.
For too long, curvy women have been offered options that feel like an afterthought, lacking the same level of design and consideration seen in traditional sizing. That gap is not just about clothing; it speaks to visibility and how a woman is valued in these spaces.
My work is rooted in changing that perspective. It is about making sure curvy women, and the mature woman, are fully considered in how luxury is designed, presented and experienced.
This is not about asking for inclusion. Women should not have to adjust themselves to fit fashion. Fashion should rise to meet the woman.
Women, especially moms, struggle with finding beautiful clothes that come in all sizes. The challenge is real. How are you working to change this reality?
I’m working to change it by shifting the conversation from accommodation to expectation.
Women should not have to search endlessly or settle. Through The Curve Authority, I highlight brands, create conversations and build relationships that push the industry to think differently about size and design.
I also help women understand how to show up now, not wait until something changes. You deserve to be seen, styled and celebrated exactly as you are today.
That is the foundation of The Curve Authority, and it’s the reason our mantra is so clear and intentional: We See You. We Style You. We Crown You.
How is our wardrobe tied to how we feel about ourselves?
Our wardrobe is often the first expression of how we see ourselves, whether we realize it or not.
When a woman feels overlooked, unsupported or unsure, it can show up in what she chooses to wear, or what she avoids wearing altogether. Clothing is not just about getting dressed; it is about identity. It is about ownership. It is about making a decision that you are worthy of being seen exactly as you are.
When a woman steps into pieces that truly honor her body, everything about her evolves. Her posture, her confidence, her voice. And that is the moment where style becomes more than fashion — it becomes a reflection of who she knows she is.
What is “closet detoxing?”
Closet detoxing is more than clearing out clothes — it is a decision to release anything that no longer reflects who you are becoming.
For many women, particularly curvy women and mature women, our closets can quietly hold onto outdated narratives. Pieces that no longer fit, styles that were never designed with us in mind or clothing tied to versions of ourselves we have outgrown or thought we would become
As women, we carry presence. We carry experience. We carry a level of status that deserves to be reflected in how we show up. And when our wardrobe does not reflect that, it creates a disconnect.
At The Curve Authority, we define this as “closet elevation.” It is not just about removing — it is about refining. It is about curating a wardrobe that reflects who you are today and supports an elevation of your mind, your body and your spirit.
When you approach your closet this way, you create space not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. You begin to see yourself differently. You begin to choose with intention.
And from that place, getting dressed is no longer routine, it becomes a reflection of your presence, your clarity and your authority.

As moms, we are always doing for others. Please give us some simple tools to take better care of ourselves.
As women, and especially as mothers, we give a lot. We show up, we hold things together and we carry more than people often realize. But somewhere in that, we can begin to disappear in our own lives.
The first thing is recognizing that you are still a priority. Not after everything is done, not when there is time, but now.
Taking care of yourself does not have to be complicated. It can start with small, intentional choices:
- Getting dressed in a way that makes you feel like yourself.
- Taking a few moments to pause and reset.
- Allowing yourself space to breathe without guilt.
- Finding skincare products you enjoy.
- Picking up a few favorites from Trader Joe’s.
- Cooking a meal you love.
- Taking a weekend or a short trip just to reset and reconnect with yourself.
And I always encourage women to stay connected to things that pour back into them. Whether it is inspiration, simple routines or new ideas, those small touchpoints can make a real difference in how you feel day to day.
You are not just what you do for everyone else. You are still a woman with value and identity. And when you begin to honor that, you start showing up from a place of fullness, clarity and strength.
What are some minor adjustments that we can make in our fashion choices that will have a big impact?
The most powerful changes are often the simplest, when they are done with intention.
- The first is fit. Wearing clothing that truly fits your body as it is today immediately elevates you. Not covering, not compromising, but honoring your shape. That alone can transform how you look and how you carry yourself.
- The second is structure. Pieces with clean lines and thoughtful construction, like a tailored blazer or a defined waist, bring a level of polish that reads as confident and put together without effort.
- The third is refinement in detail. Accessories, color and finishing touches should feel intentional, not random. A strong accessory, a well-chosen shoe or a clean, cohesive look can elevate even the simplest outfit.
- And finally, consistency. When you begin to show up for yourself in small, intentional ways every day, it builds a standard.
It is not about doing more; it is about being more intentional with what you already have. That is where the real impact lives.
