Ring in the new year by bringing the world of literacy to your child!
Famed children’s book publisher Albert Whitman & Company has launched The Book Club, a digital app for pre-K–5th graders featuring hundreds of popular stories from the vast Albert Whitman library, designed for both home and classroom use.
The Book Club is home to a rich offering of renowned Albert Whitman book series such as The Boxcar Children, Great Big Feelings, The Way I Feel, A Dog’s Day and The Wish Library. But there’s a big difference with each of the books in The Book Club – they are all animated with colorful art, enchanting character voices and lots of interactive games designed to make reading more enjoyable for kids while enhancing their literacy levels and comprehension skills.
Created under the supervision of educators and language arts and curriculum experts, and aligned with the US Common Core reading standards, The Book Club reimagines classic Albert Whitman books such as the perennial favorite The Boxcar Children to a wide collection of acclaimed current book titles including the Zapato Power series.
Joining Albert Whitman Media, an affiliate of Albert Whitman & Company, in developing The Book Club app is European EdTech company BOOKr Kids, recognized worldwide as an innovative leader in interactive eBook publishing and digital curriculum tools for growing children.
From the home to the classroom, The Book Club provides integration with Google Classroom single sign-on, where teachers can access a comprehensive reporting dashboard that tracks students’ overall reading habits, engagement, assignment completion and level progression. Teachers can also engage with the app’s many interactive features created to keep students on a reading path and serve as a learning bridge between classroom and home.
Families can check out The Book Club with a 14-day free trial by creating an easy-to-complete account providing instant access to preview every book on the new platform. The Book Club is available in three affordable subscription programs. There’s even a premium option that allows total access to the vast digital library of The Book Club and also delivers books to your door, along with an array of exclusive collectibles. One of the oldest and most honored children’s book publishers in the world, Albert Whitman & Company was founded more than 100 years ago with a commitment that has remained true throughout the prestigious publisher’s many decades – to provide quality books that children will want to read. Now, by adding advanced animation and interactive technology, Albert Whitman brings the magic of books – and the fundamental importance of literacy – to today’s computer-savvy kids.
